For the first time in over 100 years, North Wales is opening a premier whisky distillery. Aber Falls Whisky Distillery, named after and located at the foot of the Aber Falls waterfall, has recently opened its doors to debut an amazing range of whisky, gins, and liqueurs. The distillers at Aber Falls utilize their location and add the unique water from the falls to give their whisky a crisp, key distilling ingredient, all the while using Welsh barley from farmers in the region to help grow the local economy.

While community is an integral part of the Aber Falls distillery, their main point of interest is taste. Each and every spirit crafted at Aber Falls uses those quality ingredients to create only the best tasting gins and whiskys that are truly reflective of North Wales. A classic dessert in North Wales, rhubarb and ginger crumble, inspired their Rhubarb and Ginger Gin, while their Orange Marmalade Gin was inspired by the local botanical gardens. Their Violet Liqueur is sweet and floral, reminiscent of the violets that populate the land that the distillery rests on, and the Salted Toffee Liqueur uses local sea salt to give the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Finally, their Coffee and Dark Chocolate Liqueur comes straight from local chocolate orchids producing sweet cocoa and rich coffee flavors with a velvet sweet finish. While their whisky ages for another three years before consumption, for the first time in over a century, North Wales can finally say it will be worth the wait.
