Bozal is known for being an artisan line of handmade mezcals that highlight a variety of wild Mexican agave found in Guerrero and Oaxaca. These are made in small batches, and using both a high quality of ingredients as well as traditional techniques in the production process combine to create a solid and unique brand. While there are numerous types in their line up offered made with different agave, one in particular, the Bozal Ancestral, stands out and shines. It is made from the Cupreata agave, also known as Papalote in Guerrero where it’s found, and is made in very limited quantities. This particular mezcal is known for its sweet and floral tones and has an earthy aroma. As complex in flavor as it is to make, this is one spirit that will surely be missed when it is gone.
