There was sad news for the food & drink industry this week, as authorities are searching for those responsible for a Christmas Day heist at the world renowned restaurant, “French Laundry”, in Northern California’s Wine Country. The restaurant has long been a reputable and highly respected establishment, holding a 4-star status and regarded as one of the best restaurants in the country.

French Laundry released a statement notifying the public that the robbery had taken place on Christmas Day and that the items stolen were from their one-of-a-kind wine collection. Although no formal comment has been made as to the wines taken, inside sources have revealed that the following may have been victim to the heist:

Screaming Eagle 2002 – $6500/bottle
Screaming Eagle 2010 – $3500/bottle
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1988 – $5750/bottle
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1998 – $3950/bottle
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1999 – $7950/bottle
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2007 – $3250/bottle
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2008 – $3500/bottle
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2009 – $4500/bottle
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2010 – $3950/bottle

Screaming Eagle has appeared on Drink Me in the past, its Cab attaining a title of ‘Most Prestigious Wine in the USA’, so it is no surprise that the thief/thieves would attempt to take something with such value. Since opening its doors, the French Laundry Wine Program has made it its mission to select only the highest quality wines, being well-known and highly regarded throughout the region and the country.
