Charles Smith is a rock star, wild-man, harley-riding winemaker who believes wine is meant to be drunk – not overanalyzed and definitely not treated as a stuffy subject. This belief drove the creation of its own brand of wines, Charles Smith Wines, dubbed “The Modernist Project”. One of the first of its kind at the time, the portfolio focuses on the way people generally consume wine today, immediately. The intent is to create wines to be enjoyed now, but with all the serious winemaking to back it up. We’ve been fans of the Walla Walla Valley winery & its winemaker from the beginning, so our expectations were high when revisiting this portfolio. And just like the brand itself, the wines are screaming with personality. Delicious, juicy, and varietal typicity with a WOW factor. Serious, well-crafted wine does not have to hide behind big price tags, a family crest and B.S. Drink up!
