Champagne is traditionally French in origin, but not for much longer. Recently, Champagne Taittinger—a Grande Marque Champagne House—broke ground for new vineyards that will go to the production of champagne in the United Kingdom. Domaine Evremond by Taittinger will plant 40 hectares over the next two to three years, and should be released for drinking in 2023.

The Taittinger family has over 80 years of winemaking expertise in champagne and plans to use this experience to create a premium English Sparkling wine. The family has already had success planting vineyards for sparkling wine in the US, so their English venture is sure to be a success. While you’re waiting for this tasty champagne to come into being, you can check out the progress of their dig or look into their established French and American products.
