Nieves de Volcán

2 oz. of Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco
0.8 oz. grapefruit juice
0.5 oz. of vanilla and chipotle syrup

Combine ingredients in a shaker and strain. Serve in a short glass with ice. Garnish with sunflower seeds or hibiscus flowers to activate the nose.

Obsidian stones left over from volcanoes dot the landscape in Jalisco, Mexico, where blue agave grows and is distilled into tequila. To pay homage to the iconic Mexican stone, Tequila Casa Dragones decided to adorn their tasting room with over 4,000 handcrafted tiles from the rock. The beautiful reflective space is not only a breathtaking achievement, but also one that honors Mexican craftsmanship and heritage.

Inspired by the obsidian tiles in Casa Dragones’ tasting room, the Nieves de Volcán cocktail is as Mexican as the hands that built the room—and the tequila they’re both built around. Grapefruit juice brings out the citrus notes of Casa Dragones Blanco. Vanilla syrup made with chipotle chile enhances the semi-sweet notes of agave and adds a hint of spice. The final touches of sunflower seeds and hibiscus flowers give the cocktail an enticing aroma. The result is a sweet, smoky cocktail that has endless layers of depth, perfect for sipping through long summer nights.
