2015 The Owl & Dust Devil can be characterized as the red wine that has the best of all worlds. With Cabernet as the wines backbone and structure, Malbec gives it that smooth silky aromatic finish. The addition of Petit Verdot and Tannat provide character and key components to influence a rich and mature wine. 2015 weather produced a small quantity in crops but the warm rains and temperatures really made for the highest quality. The grapes are from Finca Decero’s Remolinos Vineyard in Mendoza, Argentina and endured Finca Decero’s 4-step selection process to pick the best grapes for the wine. The intricate process of fermentation began with cold soaking and then fermented for 10 days in stainless steel tanks. Then left for 15 days in small French oak barrels for 18 months. The precise selection of all steps really makes each bottle a delight.
