Quinta do Noval is celebrating the 2016 harvesting season with an exceptional vintage release, the Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2016 and the Quinta do Noval Nacional Vintage Port 2016. Christian Seely, managing Director of Quinta do Noval says that these releases “will be one of the great historic vintage ports of Quinta do Noval.”

Matured for 18 months in wooden barrels in the cellars of the Quinta, this 2016 vintage uses a variety of grapes, some of the noblest to come out of the valley, including Tinto Cão, Touriga Nacional, Sousão and Tinta Roriz. The harvesting of the grapes came after a year of extremes with a warm winter and a very hot summer, but the condition of the vines was exceptional and the end result is nothing short of fantastic. Aromatically, the wines are very expressive, with a brightness coming on the palate mixing in notes of intense bright fruit. The flavors will only get better over time, as Quinta do Noval promises great ageing potential for this special vintage. This 2016 Nacional comes straight from Portuguese vines planted in Portuguese soil, making it “attached to the soil of the Nation.” Something that Quinta do Noval is extremely proud of, and they can’t wait to share this wonderful wine with you.
