As one of the leading providers of Californian wines in select markets worldwide, E. & J. Gallo Winery connects very strongly with their Californian roots. With the recent wildfires in Sonona/Napa, it was clear the area was in need of monetary support and general help to clean up the aftermath. Recognizing they were in a position to help, Joseph E. Gallo, chief executive officer of the E. & J. Gallo Winery, announced the family-owned winery would donate $1million to aid the fire recovery efforts.

The sum will be divided amongst the American Red Cross California Wildfires Relief Fund, the Community Foundation of Sonoma, and the Napa Valley Community Foundation. But, wait, they won’t stop there. The winery will additionally match any employee donations two-for-one. Gallo said in response to the donation announcement, “It is devastating to learn that our colleagues, friends, growers and neighbors have suffered such great losses. We hope they are given the strength, fortitude, and endurance to deal with these adversities.”

While the fixing is underway, much of Napa and Sonoma is open for business and needs support more now than ever, so if a weekend trip is on the cards, you know where to go!
