Game, an adventurous New American restaurant, opened in San Francisco on Nov. 6. The menu is informed by the name itself: game is sourced locally and the world over. Try the roasted venison with king trumpet mushrooms, pumpkin, and watercress ($36) or the cavatelli with wild boar sugo, fennel, and chiles ($15). And of course, they don’t overlook the more playful interpretation of “game,” like the Elk Burger riffs on the card game blackjack: only 21 burgers are available each night ($21—of course!). Wild animals and other larks come together in the restaurant’s design and artwork.
