German distillers Kaspar and Martin are releasing their very own Knut Hansen Dry Gin. In honor of the late great sailor Knut Lier-Hansen, this self-titled gin encompasses Hansen’s highly refined lifespan of stylized facial hair, tattoos, and history of planting explosives on enemy ships during WWII. These distillers set out for the ideal gin and it took a year to perfect the balance of something they personally would want to drink.

With detail in mind, the distilling process is done four times over through small passageways with low pressure to preserve the gin’s delicate flavor. Using regionally sourced ingredients and preserving the importance of botanical use in Northern Germany, the apples and basil harvested to create Knut Hansen come from a nearby family run farm. Subtly sweet with hints of cucumber, minty herbs, and orchard fruit, Knut Hansen is perfect for sipping and welcoming warmer weather.
