Nothing is as refreshing as a delicious glass of white wine. On a hot summer day, or romantic night out- a glass of Sauvignon blanc is always a revitalizing experience. The winemakers at Ramón Balboa surely agree, as they set out during the 2016 harvest to create a unique, extraordinary white wine to add to their collection of decadence; and they did just that. With the new Ramón Bilbao Sauvignon Blanc 2016.

An abundance of steps were taken to ensure that this wine was the freshest and purest possible. The grapes were picked during the cold temperatures at night- a brilliant strategy used to avoid oxidations. From there, the fermentation process began. In three different types of casks: Concrete, wood, and stainless steel, the wine ferments in temperatures of 14°C, with lees contact maintained clear until bottling to ensure satisfying texture and ageing potential. This made for more complex aromas, all the while maintaining that rich taste Ramón Bilbao is known for.

Greenish-yellow in color, Ramón Bilbao’s Sauvignon Blanc 2016 is a high-intensity, fresh and fruity wine. Fresh grass aromas and herbal nuances are present, with exotic passionfruit in the background. The acidic citrus sensation on the palate is the perfect balance to the herbal finish. Ideal as an aperitif, served with seafood or veggies.
