Nestled in the quaint and historic ski town of Breckenridge, Colorado stands the Breckenridge Distillery. Established in 2007, this 4,000 square foot facility is home to many internationally renowned products that are mashed, fermented and distilled right here in the distillery with locally sourced ingredients. To attempt to meet demand, Breckenridge Distillery conducts two mashes per day from milled grains with traditional Scotch-style open-top unit fermenters and a custom made 700 gallon Vendome combination pot still. They aim to make two 53-gallon barrels of bourbon a day and that hardly meets demand! All of the consumer attention has lead the distillery to invest in an 8,000 square foot expansion and the addition of cocktail bar and restaurant.
Breckenridge offers an array of products and aims to be a jack-of-all-trades. If it’s out there, they want to make it. Their selection includes bourbon, vodka, vodka Chili Chile, bitter, spiced rum, spiced whiskey and also some seasonal products. Aside from bestowing the world with exceptional spirits, Breckenridge also offers aspiring distillers a Distillery Start-Up Workshop. This weeklong distillery immersion experience through hands-on tactics and lectures is available for $3,500.
