Rothay Manor is a relaxing regency style retreat that you can find set in the glorious countryside of the Lake District. It is extremely accessible for those heading both north and south on the M6, making it either an excellent overnight stop to break a longer journey up or acting as a splendid countryside bolt hole to explore the surrounding areas that both Ambleside and the Lake District have to offer.

Set in lovely lawned gardens the hotel has 19 rooms, some of which are dog friendly. The dog friendly rooms are designed so that you can bring your 4-legged family straight into the room from outside avoiding any stress for those more timid canine visitors. Once in the room you will find some extra special touches for your dogs which include a non slip water bowl, feeding bowl, some delicious doggy treats and two thick brown towels just waiting to dry off those remaining water droplets from the last swim in Windermere reservoir which is literally just down the road. Each room is beautifully furnished, you’ll find a touch of luxury in the complimentary toiletries, and an extremely comfortable bed!

Dinner is served in the double AA rosette award winning restaurant. On the menu you can expect to find an excellent choice of delicious dishes. Most ingredients are locally sourced, and the menu is constantly being developed to showcase the best of the Manor’s nature to plate philosophy. Exceptional cocktails are also a must try and Craig the restaurant manager will talk you through the different cocktails available, some of which are constructed from home made liquors; such as “honey kiss me” or “hedgerow royal”.
