Los Angeles evokes the Southern California spirit of movies, music, surfing and, of course, eternal sunshine. And, if you are planning to hit the top tourist spots during your visit, you’ll need a well-earned break from the hustle and bustle of L.A. crowds and traffic. Stylish Norah restaurant in West Hollywood (WeHo) is an oasis (including indoor palm trees). Step inside and expect to be impressed by the stunning dining room that is draped in custom art work, bubble-light chandeliers and custom-made furniture. The restaurant offers plenty of room to hang out with friends on comfy sofas in the lounge bar, or at the luxury marble-top wrap-around bar.

Be sure to sample Norah’s eclectic selection of cocktails, including the Passion Fruit Margarita, which makes great use of a serrano-infused tequila, passion fruit, Strega, lemon and agave, delivering mouth-watering hints of spice, citrus and saffron. The wine list contains a globally diverse selection of the best red and white varietals and blends from California, France and Italy – and their Rosé champagnes are sure to tickle your taste buds. Check out the seasonal menu of small plates and entrees that emphasize locally grown produce, meats (butchered in-house) and fresh seafood. Among my favorites are the melt-in-the-mouth Cast Iron Cornbread served in mini skillets; Cauliflower Tartare with crispy chickpeas and tahini; and Squid Ink Tagliatelle with mussels and kimchi butter. Quintessential California cuisine with a twist…it only gets better and better.
