Pure, original, untouched: three words rarely used to describe grape growing regions around the world today. Many original rootstocks have been gradually destroyed in various parts of the globe, due to Phylloxera- a microscopic louse that feeds off grape roots. However, thanks to its geography and climate, Chile remains untouched: free to harvest clean, strong grapes to cultivate into the wine we cherish and adore. Vina Ventisquero Root 1 Sauvignon Blanc is a bold testament to that statement.

The 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes that make up this delicious wine are grown in Ventisquero’s vineyard located in Casablanca Valley- a region that remains mostly cold, and highly recognized for its quality Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Not only does the cool climate assist the wine to preserve its fresh acidity, but help from the Pacific Ocean breeze, just a little over nine miles away from the vineyard, is a great addition to that freshness. Combine that with the bright afternoon sun, and we have ripening that is slow and steady, cultivating bright tropical flavors.

This crisp wine offers bright citrus notes and a fresh, pure finish. Vibrant flavors of grapefruit, lime, pineapple, and pear are present, combined with a hint of herb, creating a complex, elegant finish. Served best with grilled shrimp or pork loin. Grilled Vegetables are also a great match, and roasted lemon chicken.
